​Hi *Wave Motion, my name is Adam Carroll, I am 23 year old Freelance living in Dublin Ireland. I have been studying Game Design/ Development for the past 5 years and will be soon entering my 6th year of actively developing games. Over recent years I've leaned more towards the role of a technical designer as I prefer to be a Game Designer who is skillful and proficient in multiple fields of production while focusing on a primary role in programming and engine development.  My Goal is to one day work in either a AAA game studio as part of a team working on a project that is renowned or to be on the founding team of a Games Development company , some of my interests include, Game Development  3D modelling, Architecture, video games, board games, DnD, technology, movies, tv, engaging conversations, ted talks, travelling and nature.

Unity 3D

I have 6 years experience using Unity 3D. During my experiences using the platform I have been able to successfully create both 3D and 2D games. It has become my main Game Development platform since I started using it in 2012.

​UDK Unreal Development Kit

My experience with the Unreal Development Kit is limited to only the knowledge of its extensive level editor and it's Unreal Tournament match creation. Lighting, Level design and Game Flow are skill sets I have developed from my use of the engine.

Game Salad

I have created few projects using Game Salad however from all of which learning a great deal about the programming rules of the engine. Although the engine can be simplistic I have been able to implement advanced mechanics such as player movement, score systems and even replicate features such as the log mechanics in frogger through the use of the engine.

Game Maker

I have 2 years experience using Game Maker. Through these years I have developed knowledge in the creation of 2D Games, the processes that developers have to undergo to create a great 2D platforming game.
3d/ asset environment creation

3DS Max

I have 5 years experience using 3DS Max, with using the software to create Game Props, Rendering Scenes, Characters, rigged Characters and animations. I started using the software in 2013 as the primary source of 3D assets for Game Development.

Sketchup

Through 2 years experience using Sketchup I have created level art and designs with its highly detail editor. I have gained knowledge of how valuable instancing is when creating meshes for game terrains an landscapes.

Wings 3D

Through a brief 1 year experience of wings 3D I understand that it is a great application for creating base meshes for your Games. It can cut time in half as it is quite easy to moc up basic models and place them in your scenes as placeholders.

ZBrush

From adding it into my workflow for creating assets I have 2 years experience using ZBrush to create definition on models such as scratches, dents, chips etc while also improving on other modelling techniques such as Sculpting and Hard Surface Modelling.

Sculptris

I have 3 years experience using Sculptris for creating organic sculpted meshes such as characters, trees, plants etc. Through the use of Sculptris it thought me the fundamentals of sculpting.
Texture creation, Image Editing and graphic design

Photoshop

I ave 5 years experience using Photoshop as an image editing and texturing software. It has been used in previous texturing workflows for some of my 3D assets aswell as Graphic Design.

Substance Painter

I have 1 years experience with Substance Painter adding it into texture workflows for 3D assets. I have used substance to create textures for Game Assets both standard and PBR textures.

Gimp

I Have gained experience with Gimp by using it as an alternative to Photoshop. I have used it in much the same way by creating textures, image editing and using it for Graphic Design.

As another alternative to Photoshop I have gained experience in the use of Pixlr. I have used it in the same way I have used Gimp in terms of Graphic Design, Image editing and creating Textures.

C#

I have 5 years experience Programming in C# within the Unity Game Engine while also coding within independent compilers. With C# being my primary systems language I have become proficient with syntax, functions and attributes of the language within the Unity Game Engine.

I have 1 year experience in the use of JavaScript with Back-end software services such as GameSparks. through this experience JavaScript ha become my primary web based Programming Language.

Git Hub

I have gained experience using GitHub for version control using both the Git Bash commands and Git GUI software for versioning Game Projects I work on and code that I write.

MongoDB

I have experience using Mongo DB to Query and manipulate databases. I have used MongoDB both in console and within software services such as GameSparks.

​I have experience using management services through the use of GameSparks to Manage Player databases, handle Authentication, Communicate between external API's and the implementation of mechanics and events within Game Engine to conduct Live Operations.
